Malaysian turmeric and honey wings
Source: Rasa Malaysia
1. Marinate 500g chicken wings (mid joints) with ginger juice (from pounded 2" ginger), 1 tbs honey, 1 tbs light soy sauce, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp turmeric powder, 1/8 tsp chilli powder, for 1-2 hours.
2. Bake at 375 deg F for 20-25 minutes.
Tip: Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Hold wing with tong and grill over stove at medium heat. I did it over my glass-top stove and the wings were grilled beautifully.
Verdict: Everyone loved this. I didn't taste this but reckon it probably tastes like ayam percik, my favourite style of barbecued chicken. Gotta try cooking ayam percik one day.

Erm, you didn't taste the kaya, didn't eat the wings, not sure if you ate the rendang. What have you been eating as part of your diet, woman? Edaname beans? :P
haha, I can tell you I have not been deprived. Sampling of my er, diet...
Breakfast: Boiled eggs mixed with oven-baked zucchini and tomatos; or pizza made of mozarella on capsicum, mushrooms, tomatos and crackers.
Lunch: Grilled steak and grilled vegetables; or Rucola & tomato prawn salad with balsamic vinegar/olive oil/shallots dressing.
Dinner: Tomyam chicken soup or tomyam goong (using apple cider vinegar for the sourish taste) or Baked chicken with vegetables.
These are just some of the favourite recipes I recycle, but I have a few others up my sleeves as well :) It's all been gooooood, or I wouldn't have lasted a week, much less 36 days now.
OMG! That's so much better than what most people eat. You're not pulling my leg hor? I certainly don't mind such a diet. Lost much weight?
I've lost a lot cos I put on a lot the past 6 months. So from my peak weight, I've lost quite a bit. But from the normal weight I've been for the past two years, it's just about 1 kg down. Still, I'm happy cos it's been some time since I'm this weight. Again, this diet isn't for people like you who only have a couple of kgs to lose.
Oh, the food I'm eating, the portions aren't what you would be used to. Portions that seem laughable when I first started this diet now fill me up quite nicely. Amazing.
Truly amazing! Congrats!
Lilian, sorry I just saw your comment at my beef rendang posting. You can get Delimas rendang paste in Malaysia but its under the name of 'Tean Gourmet' I understand Delimas is just of US market. By the way thanks for stopping by at my blog and you have a wonderful blog here.
Hey, you mean 'Tean's Gourmet's Rendang paste is good? We have Tean's Gourmet here in Vancouver. Maybe I can try it one day...
YY.
Yes YY, try it and let me know. I've yet to find a reliable rendang paste.
